Ready Despite the Rain: Inside PEVIC SC’s Debut Day in Musanze Match Written by PEVIC SC Communication 17 Oct 2026

The rain postponed PEVIC SC’s first league matches on Sunday 11 October, but the squad arrived in Musanze fully prepared for its debut.

Sunday was meant to be the day PEVIC SC played its first league games. The club travelled to Musanze Youth Center for a double-header in Round 1, Day 1 of the D1 Men’s Handball National League 2026/27: Gicumbi HT at 12:00 and Musanze HC at 14:00.

A full matchday routine

The squad went through its whole pre-match routine. Players stretched and warmed up in pairs and as a group. Goalkeepers worked on flexibility and reactions. Players also walked the court early to check conditions, which in Musanze meant cool mountain air and a wet surface.

Off the court, the coach completed the team verification with the match officials at the official table, so the squad was cleared to play.

Then the rain came

Heavy rain made the outdoor court unplayable, and the matches scheduled at Musanze Youth Center were postponed. Playing on a wet court would have put players and officials at risk, and their safety comes first.

The result sheet stayed empty, but the day still told us something about this team. The preparation, the professionalism at the official table, and the friendly moments with officials and hosts all reflect the values the club was built on: Performance, Excellence, Victory, Integrity and Courage.

“Ikipe yari yamaze kwitegura n’ubwo ikirere kitadukundiye”: the team was ready, even if the weather was not on our side.

New dates for the postponed matches will be announced once confirmed. PEVIC SC thanks its supporters, and its partners Cheetah Cement, Nero Services, Ceslin Logistics and AVA Bricks, for their patience and support.
